Thomas Weir Obituary
Thomas G. Weir VIRGINIA BEACH - Thomas George Weir, 80, of the 700 block of Maralon Drive, passed away Oct. 3, 2008, in Virginia Beach. A native of Emmetsburg, Iowa, he was the son of the late William and Agnes Weir. He retired from the U.S. Navy after 21 years of service including serving in the Korean and Vietnam wars. He was predeceased by his wife, Lorene L. Weir. He is survived by three daughters, Rosetta Pitt and husband Charles of California, Diane Justice and husband John of Michigan and Debbie Barbra and husband Ron of Virginia Beach; 14 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and four sisters. He was predeceased by his son, Bill Blackwelder. A memorial service will be conducted Saturday, Oct. 11, at 12:30 p.m. in Memorial United Methodist Church with the Rev. John W. Cole II officiating. Inurnment will be at Rowan Memorial Park, Salisbury, N.C., Monday, Oct. 13, at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Memorial United Methodist Church, 804 Gammon Road, Virginia Beach, VA 23464. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel, is handling the arrangements.

Thinking of you all. We are sorry for your loss. Even though they are few, we have wonderful memories of our time spent with Uncle Tom. We will never forget the look on his face...at his 75th suprise birthday party. That smile of his lit up the room. Also, years ago, visiting him and Rene in NC.. What a terrific time that was. Both of these, we will remember forever. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your Dad. I remember the stories he use to tell about working in the tunnel. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.
