Catherine Tropier Obituary


Catherine O. Tropier FRANKLIN - Catherine O. Tropier of Airport Drive departed this life Oct. 1, 2008, in Suffolk. She was born in Windsor, N.C., to the late Hattie Bonds Outlaw and Theodore Carter on Nov. 25, 1913. Catherine was preceded in death by her daughter, Doris Ruffin and son-in-law, Thomas Ruffin. Her memory will be forever cherished by her grandchildren, Vivian and the Rev. Anthony Goodwyn, Karen Ruffin, Kevin and Roblyn Ruffin, Bettina Faison, Thomas and Brenda Ruffin; great-grandchildren, Sharon Nicole Goodwyn, Antoinette Nichols, Anthony and Ida Goodwyn, Ashonnald Ruffin, Maketa Ruffin, Shannel Shell, Siairra Young, Jonathan Ruffin, Torri Ruffin and Eva Ruffin; 10 great-great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends. A homegoing service was held Saturday, Oct. 4, 2008, at noon in Piney Grove Baptist Church, 1071 Carrsville Hwy., Franklin, with the Rev. Anthony Goodwyn of New Hope Baptist Church and Old Cool Spring Baptist Church. The pastor, the Rev. Alfred Brown Sr., delivered the eulogy. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Windsor, N.C. A traditional service with dignity conducted by Wm. M. Johnson & Sons Funeral Home, Inc., 224 S. Main St., Franklin. Please visit www.wmjohnsonandsons.com. to share a condolence.
