Dorothy S. Milner NAPLES, Fla. - Dorothy Pratt Stanton Milner, 96, a longtime resident of Naples, Fla., born March 18, 1912, passed away on Oct. 1, 2008. She was the daughter of Maude Costello Pratt and George Pratt of New York City. Dorothy spent her early years and was educated in New York, working later for Peck and Peck in New York and Palm Beach. She married B.M. Stanton and raised her family in Virginia Beach. She later lived in Washington, D.C., before moving to Naples from Potomac, Md., in 1968. She married Edwin Milner of Buffalo, N.Y. and spent many happy years in Naples. Dorothy always loved Naples both then and now. She lived on Harbour Drive, North Gulf Shore Blvd. and in Pelican Bay. She was a former member of Kenwood Country Club, Bethesda, Md., Royal Poinciana Golf Club and Imperial Country Club, Naples, Fla. She is survived by her three children, Patricia Mannix Fishburn of Naples, and B.M. "Buck" Stanton Jr. and Diane Stanton Monroe of Virginia Beach and their spouses; eight grandchildren, Grace Mannix Limroth (David), Kathryn Mannix Keane (Doc), Dorothy (Dolly) Mannix, Robert (Robbie), Angel, Brian, Patrick and Michael Stanton, and four great-grandchildren. "Mother was an independent spirit." She loved life and life was good to her. She had many wonderful friends over the many years and will be missed by all. Her last years were spent at Homewood Assisted Living and Lakeside Pavilion Rehab and Nursing. The family is most thankful to all at those facilities who were kind to Mother and to her caregiver, Anne Gibson. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Bucky, I'm sorry to hear about your mother. I learned to play basketball in your driveway on 46th St. She was always nice to let us play there.
