James Parker Obituary


James H. Parker Jr. VIRGINIA BEACH - James H. Parker Jr. passed away Oct. 6, 2008, in Virginia Beach. Mr. Parker was known to his family and friends as "Buddy." Buddy was predeceased by his parents, James H. Sr., and Sadie McGlaughon Parker of Chesapeake. Buddy was a graduate of Oscar Smith High School and attended Old Dominion University. He served in the United States Navy and retired from Ford Motor Company in Norfolk. Buddy loved people. He had a great sense of humor and an avid interest in golf, hunting and travel. Buddy, we will miss you so much and cherish the memories of your life. Buddy is survived by his daughter, Kelli W. Parker of Madison, Miss.; two sisters, Roma Cathcart of Ocala, Fla., and Trilby "Jake" Culpepper of Kill Devil Hills, N.C.; two nieces, Karen Hamer of Ocala and Terri Southerland of Kill Devil Hills; and one nephew, Carl Cathcart of New Jersey. A graveside service will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. in Rosewood Memorial Park. The family requests no flowers be sent but a contribution to the Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters or a charity of one's choice.
