Ernest Pfleger Obituary
Ernest Pfleger VIRGINIA BEACH - Ernest "Ernie" Pfleger, 87, passed away Oct. 5, 2008. He was the son of the late Julius and Lena Pfleger. He was predeceased by a stepson, Thomas E. Allen Jr., who died in 2005. Ernie was born Nov. 29, 1920, in Pflaz, Germany. Ernie served as a medic in the United States Army. He was a sales associate at Haynes Furniture and also worked at Meyers and Tabakin Furniture Store. He volunteered at the Urban Ministry Potter's House at Virginia Beach United Methodist Church. He was an avid fan of the Washington Redskins as well as NASCAR. Ernest also took a passionate interest in reflexology. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth A. Pfleger; sons, Keith and his wife Ruby and Randall; stepdaughters, Kimberly Lewis and Susan Leonard, as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson. Services will be held at H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Laskin Road Chapel, Wednesday at 11 a.m. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Norfolk. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Urban Ministry at Virginia Beach United Methodist Church.
