Loye Elliott Obituary


Loye L. Elliott HINDSVILLE, Ark. - Loye Leon Elliott, 82, of Hindsville, Ark., formerly a longtime resident of Grain Valley, Mo., passed away Oct. 4, 2008, in Kansas City, Mo. Loye was born June 24, 1926, to Leslie G. and Roberta C. (Wilson) Elliott in Whittier, Calif. He was a retired master plumber, a Marine Corps veteran who proudly served aboard the USS New Jersey in World War II, and a longtime member of Cross Creek Baptist Mission in Oak Grove, Mo. He was preceded in death by wives, Betty J. Hall Elliott and Lily B. Fields Elliott; a son, Monty Joe Elliott; and a sister, Carol L. Tate. His survivors include his three daughters, Deborah Henson and her husband Robert of Suffolk, Jane Scott and her husband Mike of Hindsville and Rebecca Meyers of Platte City, Mo.; one adopted son, Paul Elliott and his wife Erin of Grain Valley; one adopted daughter, Mari-jo Wilkes and her husband Dale of Holts Summit, Mo.; one stepson, Mike Dana of Centerton, Ark.; one stepdaughter, Carol Chapman and her husband Ted of St. Louis; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one sister, Virginia Fields and her husband Bill of Fayetteville, Ark. An inurnment will be Saturday at Evergreen Cemetery in Fayetteville, Ark.
