Stella Hutchinson Obituary


Stella M. Hutchinson CHESAPEAKE - Stella M. Hutchinson, 88, born Oct. 18, 1919, passed away Oct. 8, 2008 in Chesapeake. She was born in Lincoln County, West Virginia, and had resided in Norfolk and Chesapeake for 67 years. She retired from the Grande Beauty Shop, where she worked for 33 years. She is survived by her loving and caring husband of 42 years, James A. Hutchinson Jr.; three daughters, Phyllis B. Collier, Merle Waddell and husband Bobby and Peggy Rode and husband Charlie; three sons, Charles H. Brooks and wife Elaine, Larry G. Brooks Sr. and wife Deborah and James Hutchinson III and wife Pam; 10 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, May White and Violet Conduff. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lula Justice and Asa Spears; and two brothers, Frank and Cabel Spears. The family will receive friends at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Bridge Chapel, today from 7 to 8:30 p.m. A graveside service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday at Chesapeake Memorial Gardens.
