Herbert Wilson Obituary
Herbert C. Wilson CHESAPEAKE - Herbert C. Wilson, 86, of the 100 block of Alice St., passed away Oct. 8, 2008. He was born March 16, 1922, in Norfolk County, Virginia. Herbert retired from civil service as a truck driver. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Gilmerton. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Martha C. Wilson; one daughter, Sharon Wilson Spellman (Earnest "Freddie" Sr.); one sister, Elsie Short; two grandchildren, Earnest "Frede" Spellman Jr. and Joshua Spellman; and a host of other relatives and friends. A funeral will be held at noon Monday in First Baptist Church, Gilmerton, 1617 Shell Road. The Rev. John Ashby III will officiate. Interment will be in Cassell Family Cemetery, Chesapeake. Family and friends will assemble at 102 Alice St. one hour prior to the service for the procession to the church. Viewing will be from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday in Metropolitan Funeral Service, Berkley Ave. Chapel. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.metropolitanfuneralservice.com.
