Ralph Bartel Obituary


Ralph Bartel DEERFIELD BEACH, Fla. - Ralph Bartel, 98, of Deerfield Beach, passed away Oct. 7, 2008. Formerly of Miami and Miami Beach, he was a resident of South Florida for more than 65 years. Bartel was a longtime teacher and administrator in Miami-Dade schools as well as a Miami Beach hotel owner/operator and area businessman. Predeceased by his loving wife of 69 years, Mollie, he was the devoted patriarch of the family - a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, cousin, as well as friend. Ralph will always be loved and remembered by his sons, Stanley (Karen) and Alan (Dolores); grandsons, Gary (Shannon), Jeffrey (Cathy), Douglas (Sherri) and Craig; as well as great-grandchildren, Haley, Brett, Carly, Jordan, Brooke, Lauren and Jody. A private service is planned in Miami. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Ralph and Mollie Bartel Fund for Developmental Disabilities, United Jewish Federation of Tidewater, 5000 Corporate Woods Drive, Suite 200, Virginia Beach, VA 23462. A service will be held at the home of Dolores and Alan Bartel at 6 p.m. Sunday.
