Eddie Rasberry Obituary


Eddie C. Rasberry Jr. CHESAPEAKE - Eddie C. Rasberry Jr., 75, went home to be with Jesus Oct. 7, 2008, with his family at his bedside at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. Eddie graduated from Maury High School in 1952. He was a successful builder and developer in the Hampton Roads area in the 70s and 80s. He also was the owner of a restaurant, The Crow's Nest, in the late 70s. In the 80s, he was a farmer in Naples, Fla. He was better known as "Pappy." He loved to attend all of his grandchildren's events and go fishing with his family, but best of all he loved family gatherings. Eddie was a man driven by dreams and compassion for a better life for his family and grandchildren. He was an incredible father that always put his family first and always tried to give his children and grandchildren the best. He was preceded in death by parents, Eddie C. Rasberry Sr. and Doris Rasberry and by his wife, Patsy R. Midgette Rasberry. He is survived by his three daughters, Brenda Juel, Carol Millis and Carmon Pizzanello; and three sons-in-law, Bennie A. Juel Jr., Glen Pizzanello and Joey Millis; eight grandchildren, Brandi, Breanna, Brittany and Bo Juel, Rachel and Little Glen Pizzanello, and Tyler and Jordon Millis; three sisters and their spouses, Evon Rice (Ray), Claudia Gardner (Tag) and Judy Geittier (Glen). A homecoming celebration will be held Monday at 4 p.m. in New Life Providence Church, located at 1244 Thompkins Lane in Virginia Beach. After the service, friends and family are welcome at the family's home. Arrangements by Cremation and Funeral Services of Tidewater, www.candfservices.com.
