Ann Mitchell Obituary


Ann M. Mitchell PORTSMOUTH - Ann Elizabeth Morgan Mitchell, 86, of the 3200 block of Knox St., passed away Oct. 9, 2008. She was born Aug. 10, 1922, in Amelia County, Virginia. She was preceded in death by her husband, Moses Mitchell and brother, Benjamin T. Morgan. She was a graduate of I.C. Norcom High School and worked many years as a nurse. Left to cherish her memory are one daughter, Rose Eason of Portsmouth; four sons, Benjamin Worsham (Mary), Willie Patillo (Celestine) of Portsmouth, Ronald Patillo (Lessie) of Chesapeake and Dwight Days (Barbara) of Portsmouth; one sister, Sarah Graham of New Brunswick, N.J.; one sister-in-law, Rosa Morgan of Baltimore; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one great- great-grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. A funeral will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. in Portsmouth Seventh-day Adventist Church, 3704 Winchester Drive. Pastor Armando Reed will officiate. The family will receive friends at 814 Madison St., Portsmouth. Corprew Funeral Home is in charge.
