Kathryn Falk Obituary


Kathryn L.M. Falk VIRGINIA BEACH - Kathryn L.M. Falk, 68, after a courageous 8-year battle with cancer, died Oct. 14, 2008, in Virginia Beach. She was born in Norfolk, the daughter of the late Mary A. Owens and James Earl Moore Sr. and was preceded in death by her brother, James Earl Moore Jr. Survivors include her husband, Charles Edward Falk Sr.; her daughter, Janet Falk; son, Charles Edward "Eddie" Falk Jr. and wife Susan; grandchildren, Jamie Sanford, C.E. Falk, Wesley Falk, all of Virginia Beach; her sister, Earline Wilson and husband Jerry of Slidell, La.; her sister-in-law, Elaine Moore of Charlotte, N.C.; close friend, Reva Stein; and beloved companion, Merry. She was a graduate of Great Bridge High School and a member of Oaklette United Methodist Church. Kitty started the business with her husband in 1959 soon after their marriage. She was an officer and half owner of Falk Holdings Inc. Kitty was an avid fisherman, and could be seen on any Saturday in the ocean aboard The O Four. She held many offshore citations including the Ocean City Open Tournament, which she won three times. Her goal in life was taking care of many people; she was a generous, charitable woman making many anonymous donations. Kitty was a beautiful and loving wife, mother and grandmother who will be missed by many. The family will receive friends Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m. in H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Laskin Road Chapel. A funeral will be conducted Sunday, Oct. 19, at 3 p.m. in Spring Branch Community Church, 1500 North Great Neck Road, Virginia Beach, by the Rev. Michael Simone. Burial will be in Princess Anne Memorial Park.
