William Bonney Obituary


William Earl Bonney Jr. NORFOLK - William Earl "Lil Bill" Bonney Jr., 24, of the 500 block of Northshore Road, passed away Oct. 14, 2008, at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. He was born Aug. 9, 1984, in El Paso, Texas. He was a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School and attended Old Dominion University for two years. He served in the U.S. Army for two years serving in Operation Iraqi Freedom from 2003-04 and received the following medals: National Defense Service Medal, War on Terrorism Service Medal and the Army Service Ribbon. He was employed with the City of Norfolk. He was predeceased by his maternal grandfather, Samuel J. Davis Sr.; his paternal grandmother, Cookie Bonney; and a cousin, Abdul Hargraves. He leaves to cherish his memory one son, Ny'Jile Winstead; his parents, Diane Davis Bonney and William E. Bonney Sr.; one sister, Chasity D. Bonney; maternal grandmother, Rebecca G. Davis Brown; a special friend, Keyonta Winstead; a special friend to the family, Michael Ebong; and a host of other relatives and friends. A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the chapel of Metropolitan Funeral Service, 7246 Granby St. Interment will be at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, Norfolk. Family and friends will assemble at the chapel. Viewing will be held at 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday prior to the service. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.metropolitanfuneralservice.com.
