Recer Jordan Obituary
Recer D. Jordan TYNER - Recer Dail Jordan, 102, of the 200 block of Jordan Loop Road, died Sunday, Oct. 19, 2008 in the Skilled Nursing Facility of Chowan Hospital. Born in Chowan County, she was the daughter of the late John Clingman and Celia Outland Dail. A homemaker, she was a member of Happy Home Pentecostal Holiness Chuch, its Ladies Auxiliary, had formerly taught Sunday school and had been a member of the Adult Choir. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Ellsberry Jordan; a daughter, Christine Evans; and a grandson, Teddy Langley. Surviving her are two daughters, Naomi Ward and husband Ralph, and Bernice Langley and husband Glenn and a son, Earl V. Jordan and wife Ann, all of Tyner; a son-in-law, Merrill Evans of Kitty Hawk; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and five great- great-grandchildren. A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Happy Home Pentecostal Holiness Church by the Rev. Chuck Davis. Burial will follow in Cedarwood Cemetery in Hertford. Friends may join the family today from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, Edenton, and all other times at the residence. Memorial contributions may be made to Happy Home Church, 534 Happy Home Road, Tyner, NC 27980.
