Jerome Adler Obituary


Jerome Adler NORFOLK - Jerome Adler, 85, passed away Saturday, Oct. 18, 2008 at his home surrounded by all of his loving family. He was born March 26, 1923 in Norfolk to the late Irwin and Minnie (Silverman) Adler. Jerome proudly served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a radio operator; he later worked in food service management until his retirement. He was a member of Temple Emanuel in Virginia Beach. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Joanna Lipson Adler and his brother, Marvin Adler. He is survived by his wife, Susan Adler; his children, Stephen Adler and wife Hope, Charles Adler and wife Colleen, Andrew Adler and wife Caroline, Terri Bosher, Craig Einhorn and wife Shuly; his brother, Dr. Theodore Adler and wife Sally and grandchildren, Elizabeth, Brian, Zachary, Justin, Joseph, Roy and Tia. A graveside service was conducted by Rabbi Howard Mandell Sunday at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Norfolk. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Rabbi's discretionary fund of Temple Emanuel, 424 25th St., Virginia Beach, VA 23451.
