Betty Harrison Obituary
Betty Ruth Harrison HAMPTON - Betty Ruth Harrison, 78, passed away Saturday, Oct. 18, 2008, at Riverside Hospital after a brief illness. Betty was born on Dec. 15, 1929, in Moore County, North Carolina, to the late William and Flossie Furr. She was a homemaker and wonderful mother, sister, grandmother and friend to all. Betty was an active member of Faith Baptist Church. She was predeceased by her loving husband, William Harrison. Left to cherish her memory are her daughters Barbara Green of Florence, S.C., Wanda Sheffield of Chesapeake and her husband Charles Himelright, Debbie Pate of Midlothian and her husband Gene, and her "Chosen" daughter, Pat Davis of Hampton; a sister, Margaret Harris of North Carolina; three grandchildren, Mandy Pate of Midlothian, Lisa Green of South Carolina and Shane Green of Indianapolis; and many loving nieces and nephews. A visitation for family and friends will be held Tuesday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Peninsula Funeral Home. A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Peninsula Funeral Home, burial to follow at Hampton Memorial Gardens. Peninsula Funeral Home, Newport News, is in charge of arrangements.

Wanda and Pat,
I was so sorry to hear of your mother's passing. It is hard to continue on without her being with you both. You are very gifted to have each other for comfort and support. Pat, I know how much Mrs. Harrison was like a mother to you. I pray you continue to have the strength to help Wanda through this difficult time. You are both very blessed to have each other and all the good times spent over the years. Know you are in our hearts and prayers. Thinking of you both and your families.

I am so sorry to here about Betty. She was so very special to our family! She was my mom's life! I will never forget about all the wonderful times we had with her!
