Joseph Brown Obituary
Joseph A. Brown Sr. PORTSMOUTH - Joseph Anthony Brown Sr., also known as Peter, 58, of the 400 block of Biltmore Place, departed this life in the early morning on Friday, Oct. 17, 2008. He leaves to cherish his memory a wife, Florine Brown; two daughters, Marilyn Young of Portsmouth and Tresa Riggins (Rudolph) of Newport News; son, Joseph Brown Jr. of Portsmouth; and father, Herbert Brown of Portsmouth. Also left to cherish his memory are three brothers, James Brown (Cynthia), Herbert Wayne Brown and Michael Brown (Tasha), both of Portsmouth; three sisters, Mary Nixon of Chesapeake, Lola Wilkes of Baltimore and Cheryl Freeman (Linsey) of Portsmouth. He will also be missed by four grandchildren, a great-grandchild and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A life celebration service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Trinity Faith Diamond Baptist Church, 1023 Deep Creek Blvd., Chesapeake, where the pastor is Rev. O. L. Cromwell II. The Rev. Nathaniel Jones will officiate. Viewing will be held Tuesday at J.T. Fisher Funeral Services, 1080 N. George Washington Hwy., Chesapeake, from noon until 5 p.m. Burial will be at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens in Chesapeake. Condolences can be offered to the family at www.jtfisherfuneralservices.com.S
