Catherine Craddock Obituary


Catherine C. Craddock VIRGINIA BEACH – Catherine Curles Craddock, 89, passed away Oct. 20, 2008. A native of Perquimans County, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late William Thomas and Calie Sawyer Curles. She was a member of Holley Neck Baptist Church of Washington County, North Carolina. Catherine had been employed in food service for 56 years until her retirement in 1997. She was predeceased by her husband of 54 years, Thomas Wesley Craddock; son, Charles Wesley Craddock and his wife Norma Payne; six brothers and three sisters. Catherine is survived by her son, James Richard Craddock and wife Beverly of Virginia Beach; a granddaughter, Susan Craddock of Rose Bud, Ark.; two great- grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. A funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Smith & Williams Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel, conducted by Chaplain Keith E. Willyard. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. You may offer condolences at www.mem.com.
