Eugene Wiggins Obituary


Eugene Wiggins Jr. VIRGINIA BEACH - Eugene "Hope" Wiggins Jr., 74, was called to eternal rest Oct. 19, 2008. He was born Sept. 16, 1934, in Halifax County, North Carolina, to the late Eugene Wiggins Sr. and Arlene Macon Wiggins. He later made his home in Norfolk. Eugene lived in Virginia Beach with his family for the past year. He retired from Norfolk Public Schools after 27 years of service. He was a faithful member of Brotherly Love COGIC. Eugene was predeceased by his wife, Rosebud Wiggins. He leaves to cherish his memory his children, Barbara Wiggins, Bridgette Wiggins, Eugene Wiggins III (Yolanda), Domingo Wiggins and Annette Sinclair; six sisters, Victoria Taylor, Pearlene Ratcliff, both of Norfolk, Edna Joyner, Elverda Brooks, both of Chesapeake, Geraldine Alston of Enfield, N.C. and Queen Williams of Whitakers, N.C.; four brothers, George, Benjamin, Burnell, all of Norfolk, and James of Whitakers, N.C.; 14 grandchildren; five great- grandchildren; a special daughter, Yolanda A. Wiggins; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in the chapel of Metropolitan Funeral Service, 7246 Granby St. Elder Gary L. Preston Sr. will officiate. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery, Norfolk. Family and friends will assemble at the chapel.
