Laura ReDavid Ahern VIRGINIA BEACH - Laura ReDavid Ahern, 62, passed away Sunday, Oct. 19, 2008, at her home in Fairfax County, Virginia, surrounded by family and friends. Born and raised in Norfolk, Laura and her husband, Michael, have resided in Northern Virginia for the past 18 years where she was an information technology consultant. Daughter of the late Nicholas and Lena ReDavid of Norfolk, Laura graduated from Norview High School in 1963 and later attended Old Dominion University. A loving wife and mother, Laura is survived by her husband, Michael W. Ahern; her two sons, Richard Lawrence of Dublin, Calif., and Michael R. Lawrence of Virginia Beach; a daughter, Heather Lawrence Reams and her husband Christopher of Alexandria, Va.; a stepson, Anthony Ahern and his wife Nina of Virginia Beach; her sister, Bonnie Filek and her husband James of Virginia Beach; two grandchildren, Abigail and Joshua Lawrence of West Covina, Calif.; and two stepgrandchildren, Dylan and Mason Ahern of Virginia Beach. She was preceded in death by her son, Gregory Caldwell Lawrence. She was a devoted wife and mother, a true friend to all who knew her and will be greatly missed. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Laskin Road Chapel. A Christian wake will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday during the visitation. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday at 1 p.m. in St. Matthew's Catholic Church, 3312 Sandra Lane, Virginia Beach. Burial will follow at Rosewood Memorial Park.
