Orian Forrest Obituary
Orian J. Forrest Jr. PORTSMOUTH - Orian Jackson "Odie" Forrest Jr., 84, of the 200 block of Castlewood Road, died Oct. 23, 2008, in his home. A native of Nash County, North Carolina, he was the retired owner of Odie's Barber Shop in Portsmouth and a Navy veteran of World War II. Survivors include his wife, Agnes Luper Forrest; a son, Steve Forrest and wife Linda of Suffolk; two grandchildren, Steve Forrest Jr. and wife Leslye and Denise Forrest; and two great-grandchildren, Kyler Forrest and Bryson Forrest (and one on the way). Mr. Forrest was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters and two brothers. A graveside service will be held Monday at 2 p.m. in Pineview Cemetery, Rocky Mount, N.C. The family will receive friends in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, Sunday from 7 to 8 p.m. The family would like to extend a special thanks to his niece, Jane Simmons, for her care and support over the past week. www.SturtevantFuneralHome.com.
