Celia Fuller Obituary


Celia M. Carrington Fuller CHESAPEAKE - Celia Mae Carrington Fuller of the 2400 block of Earley St., departed this life at 7:55 a.m. Oct. 22, 2008, in Autumn Care of Great Bridge at the age of 85. She was the daughter of the late John and Ida Sivills Carrington. She was born in Chesapeake (Norfolk County, Virginia) and was one of the oldest members of First Baptist Church West Munden, where she served diligently in its Samaritan Ministry until her health failed. She was predeceased by her husband, Raymond Fuller; her son, Bobby Carrington; grandson, Bobby Jr.; two sisters, Mildred Perry Bray and Jacqueline Turner; four brothers, Albert, John, James and Calvin. She is survived by one brother, Carlton M. Carrington (Gladys); seven nieces, Irma Edmonds (John), her primary caregiver Laverne Majors (Nathan), Mildred Tann (Lorenzo), Brenda Perry, Cheryl Carrington Greene (Peter), Georgene Jones (Robert), Carolyn Ashby (John III) and the Rev. Joy Carrington; four nephews, Alonzo Carrington (Octavia), Albert Carrington Jr. (Williemae), Carlton M. Carrington Jr. (Belinda) and John Carrington (Calease); several grand and great-nieces and -nephews; and friends. Special thanks to the nurses and staff of Autumn Care of Great Bridge for their kindness and loving care. A funeral will be held Monday at 11 a.m. in First Baptist Church West Munden, 1541 Lyons Ave., Chesapeake, by the Rev. Dr. James E. Jones Jr. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park. Fitchett Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. The family will assemble at the funeral home for the procession to the church at 10:15 a.m. Condolences can be offered to the family at www.fitchettfuneralhome.com. Danielle M.
