Nathaniel Hayes Obituary


Nathaniel Hayes Jr. VIRGINIA BEACH - Nathaniel "Nate" Hayes Jr. of the 5900 block of Buckminister Lane, entered this life Nov. 6, 1967, and departed this life Oct. 21, 2008. Nate was a 1986 graduate of Indian River High School and a 1998 graduate of Johnson and Wales University. At the time of his passing, Nate was the owner/operator of Elite Computer Repair. He served in the U.S. Army and was the former kitchen manager of the Thorougood Comedy Club. Nathaniel was predeceased by his uncles, Joseph and Robert McFarland. Left to cherish his memory are the love of his life, Wilma Vazquez; his mother, Barbara McFarland Hayes; his father, Nathaniel Hayes Sr.; his grandmother, Josephine V. McFarland; his sister, Nicole H. Jones; his children, Lunetta "Precious" Joyner, Andrew Johnson and Celina Williams; his grandchildren, William and Azaria; his nephew, Trevon Cooper; aunties, Lillie McFarland Brinkley and Delphine McFarland Freeman; uncles, Rufus McFarland and Nathaniel McFarland and Moses McFarland; best friends, Steven "Mann" Jones and Reginald "Reggie" Williams; his loyal canine buddy, Lex; and a host of cousins, extended family and friends. A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in the chapel of Metropolitan Funeral Service, 7246 Granby St. The Rev. Randall Piacentini will officiate. Entombment will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake. Viewing will be held from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.metropolitanfuneralservice.com.
