Elsie Kappes Obituary
Elsie May Kappes CHESAPEAKE - Elsie May Kappes, 78, formerly of the 1900 block of Broadmoor Ave., passed away Oct. 23, 2008. Born in Norfolk, she was the daughter of the late Nolen Jefferson Sr. and Josephine Jefferson and the wife of the late Herman W. Kappes Sr. She served the Lord as a Pentecostal Holiness. She is survived by two sons, Herman Jr. and his wife Barbara and Joseph Kappes; three daughters, Alice Ellis, Louise Lowery and her husband Danie and Linda Dayton and her husband Dave; 11 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a sister, Annie Ives. She was preceded in death by a brother, Nolen Jefferson Jr. and a sister, Josephine Wells. A graveside service will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, 3609 Virginia Beach Blvd., Norfolk, with Pastor Matt Stewart officiating. The family will receive friends at Graham Funeral Home, Greenbrier Chapel, Monday from 7 to 8 p.m. Please share a memory with the family at www.grahamfuneralhome.com.
