Isidro de Vera Obituary


Isidro F. de Vera VIRGINIA BEACH - Isidro F. de Vera, 82, passed away Oct. 23, 2008, in his home. A native of Sto. Domingo, Ilocos Sur, Philippines, he was the son of the late Rufino and Flaviana de Vera. He retired from the Hipol Clinic after 15 years of service. He attended St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church and Holy Spirit Catholic Church. He was an active member and past president of Rotary International of Vigan, Ilocos Sur and was an integral member of the United Ilocano Association of Tidewater Inc. He was also an avid supporter of the Philippine Cultural Center of Virginia in Virginia Beach. He is survived by his sister, Dr. Rose de Vera Hipol and her husband Dr. Manuel A. Hipol of Virginia Beach; his brother, Eufrosino F. de Vera and wife Edna B. de Vera of the Philippines; two nieces, Vivianne Hipol Gantous and husband Anthony and their daughter Sophiene Rose of Cleveland, Ohio, and Dr. Charrise Hipol of Boston. He is also survived by sister-in-law, Lydia de Vera and many nieces and nephews in the Philippines. A Mass of the Resurrection will be conducted Friday at 6 p.m. in Holy Spirit Catholic Church. The family will receive friends at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel, Thursday from 6 to 9 p.m. with a wake at 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Philippine Cultural Center of Virginia, 4857 Baxter Road, Virginia Beach, VA 23462.
