George Jones Obituary


George Edward Jones III NORFOLK - George Edward Jones III, 54, of the 1200 block of W. Ocean View Ave., passed away Oct. 26, 2008, in DePaul Hospital. A native of Fort Bragg, N.C., he was the son of the late Victoria and George E. Jones Jr. He worked as a business mail and printing consultant with Rocket Communications. Mr. Jones was an avid surfer and marathon runner. He attended London Bridge Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Kimberly Copperthite and son, Denver Spencer Jones, both of Norfolk; a stepson, Bryce Clayton Copperthite of Virginia Beach; his sister, Maria P. Wall and husband Steve of Hilton Head, S.C.; and two brothers, Noel E. Von Kauffmann and wife Beth and Ernest W. Von Kauffmann and wife Mary, all of Virginia Beach. A memorial service will be conducted Monday at 11 a.m. in London Bridge Baptist Church with the Rev. Tom Armbrister officiating. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, is handling the arrangements. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.hollomon-brown.com.

George, you will greatly be missed at the City Treasurer's office.
You always had a hugh smile no matter what was going on in you life. I will miss our talks and your friendship that you gave at will to anyone you met in your travels. May God bless your family and may you continue to watch over those you loved and cared for all your life.
