Evelyn was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great- grandmother, sister, friend and neighbor. She was a great storyteller and always had a funny joke up her sleeve. She loved her family, her home of 41 years, her garden, her neighbors, her neighbors' children - and even the children's children. They will all miss her pickles, cakes, homespun humor and chats on her screened-in porch. A memorial service will be held today at 11 a.m. in Altmeyer Funeral Home, 5792 Greenwich Road, Virginia Beach, with the Rev. Tracy Bradshaw officiating with a reception immediately following. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Susan G. Komen For the Cure, 119 S. Witchduck Road, Suite No. 85, Virginia Beach, VA 23462.
