Regina Hobday Obituary


Regina C. Hobday CHESAPEAKE - Regina C. "Jean" Hobday, 84, went to be with the Lord Oct. 28, 2008. Regina was born in Grayson, Ky., the daughter of the late Roy and Maggie Mabel Burnett Carroll. Regina was a member of Western Branch Community Church. Mrs. Hobday is survived by her husband of more than 53 years, James Hobday Jr. and her sons, James H. Hobday III and Gary R. Montague and his wife Kum; grandchildren, James H. Hobday IV and Nicole Marie Hobday; her sisters, Phyllis Mabe and her husband Dennis, Brenda Boone and her husband Lee, Sandra Combs and her husband Kenneth; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. A funeral to celebrate Regina's life will be held at 1 p.m. Friday in Loving Funeral Home, 3325 Academy Ave., Portsmouth. Burial will follow the service in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Online condolences and Mrs. Hobday's guestbook may be signed at www.lovingfuneralhome.com.

Jim, Howard and family,

It is with a heavy heart that I and your fellow inspectors from the City of Chesapeake feel for your loss.

On the personal side, my wife and I will never forget all the years that we rode that school bus to Western Branch with your wife at the wheel. She was a heck of a woman.
