Glynn Moore Obituary


Glynn I. Moore SUMMERVILLE, S.C. - Glynn I. Moore, 78, of Summerville, S.C., formerly of Norfolk and Virginia Beach, died on the evening of Saturday, Oct. 25, 2008, in a Charleston area hospital. Mr. Moore was born Aug. 25, 1930, in Raleigh, N.C., son of the late George I. and Carita Wade Moore. A U.S. Army Signal Corps veteran, he was a retired aeronautical engineering technician at the Norfolk Naval Air Station. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Carter Payne-Moore of Summerville; two sons, Greg Moore and his wife Leeallen and Ray Moore and his wife Roslyn, all of Norfolk; daughter, Lonna Trent and her husband Michael of Portsmouth; seven grandchildren, Glynn and Justin Moore, Michele Moore Fiala, Chris Moore, Angel Trent Harris, James Trent and Terri Trent Wade; two brothers, George Moore and his wife Dorothy of Norcross, Ga., and James Moore and his wife Linda of Newport News, Va. Also surviving are a stepdaughter, Susan Payne West and two stepgrandchildren of Virginia Beach. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a son, Gary and daughter, Sharon. Cryptside services will be conducted at 2 p.m. today at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Chesapeake. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Glynn's memory to the Frances R. Willis SPCA, Dorchester County, or the American Cancer Society would be appreciated. Arrangements were made through Palmetto Cremation Society, Charleston, S.C.
