Edward LeClaire Obituary

Edward H. LeClaire VIRGINIA BEACH - Retired U.S. Navy Chief Petty Officer Edward H. LeClaire, 77, passed away Nov. 2, 2008. Born in Auburn, Mass., to the late Alfred and Ozelia LeClaire, he was a retired U.S. Navy CPO with the Seabees. He also retired from the Public Works Center at Little Creek Amphibious Base. Edward had a rich life which made him enjoy simple things: working in his garden on a sunny day, a good cup of coffee and watching his beloved Atlanta Braves play baseball. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Betty S. LeClaire; three daughters, Michelle LeClaire of Virginia Beach, Sandra LeClaire of Norfolk and Sarah Heisler and husband Kurt of Norfolk; and two sisters, Eleanor Erickson and Dorothy McGinnes, both of Worcester, Mass. The family would like to thank Dr. William Clark and staff as well as Dr. Anil Patel for their kindness and care of our father. All services are private. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel, is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.hollomon-brown.com.

I am so sorry for the loss to your whole family. Mr. LeClaire was one of the few "normal" and kind dads I got to know while growing up and I will miss him.
Please let me know if there is anything I can do to help at this time. Love, Susan
