Edith Walters Obituary


Edith R. Walters NORFOLK - Edith Rae Walters, 78, passed away peacefully Oct. 31, 2008, in the comfort of her home surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Walters was born Aug. 7, 1930, to the late Kelly Forehand and Helen Lane in Norfolk. She was a lifelong resident of Norfolk and was a registered nurse for more than 40 years. Her family and friends will always remember her as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend who always put her family first. She will be deeply missed. Left to cherish her memory are five sons, Timothy, Jeffrey, Mark, Paul and John Walters; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward A. Walters. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Norview Chapel. A celebration of life will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Please share your love and condolences with the family at www.mem.com.
