Thomas Dail Obituary


Thomas R. Dail Sr. PORTSMOUTH - Thomas Reed "Tuck" Dail Sr., 83, of the 4400 block of Edwin Road, died Monday, Nov. 3, 2008, in a Chesapeake hospital. A native of Winder, Ga., he was the retired owner of Dail's Seafood. He was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He is survived by his wife, Betty Dail; two daughters, Kristen Ruark and husband David and Lisa Mernin and husband Edward, all of Norfolk; two sons, Thomas Reed Dail Jr. and wife Erin and Andrew F. Dail, all of Portsmouth; eight grandchildren, Sean and Tori Ruark, Daniel and Kevin Mernin, Anne Bernadette, Thomas III, Mary Kate and Michaela Dail; and a newly "adopted" son, Vince. A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Centenary United Methodist Church by the Rev. Ellen W. Comstock. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Centenary UMC Organ Restoration Fund.
