Randolph Preddy Obituary


Randolph H. Preddy PORTSMOUTH - Randolph Howard "Randy" Preddy, 70, of the 800 block of Nottingham Road, passed away unexpectedly Nov. 2, 2008. Born in Portsmouth Dec. 8, 1937, he was the son of the late Dorsey and Fannie Preddy. Randy was an all around great guy who loved his wife and family and was dedicated to them, even becoming the old fashioned/traditional type grandfather. He was also a Redskins fan who enjoyed yard work, fishing and just being outside. Randy retired as a Radcon supervisor for Norfolk Naval Shipyard, Portsmouth. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Burt Preddy. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Janice Faye Preddy; a daughter, Cheryl D. Ross and husband Rob; a son, Ronnie D. Preddy and wife Sharon; a sister, Catherine Brett; two brothers, Wade and Ben Preddy; three grandchildren, Sheena R. Levesque and husband Terry, Anna D. Preddy and Trent H. Preddy; two great-grandchildren, Megan and MacKenzie; and a host of nieces, nephews and other family. A funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, by the Rev. T.M. Frye. Entombment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
