Haywood Franklin Obituary


Haywood M. Franklin VIRGINIA BEACH - Haywood A. Franklin, 90, passed away Nov. 2, 2008. He was a native of Chester County , South Carolina. Mr. Franklin was a predeceased by his mother, Louise Howze Franklin; his father, Archie Melton Franklin Jr.; two sisters, Nora Lee Boyd and Louise Carnige; and a brother, John A. Franklin. He leaves to cherish his memory a daughter, Clarissa Pennington-Williams (Carl T.); a sister, Willie Mae Smith; nephews, Charlton Price (Brenda), Lloyd Price (Billie) and James Franklin (Lola); nieces, Elenor Wayman and Mary Merchant (James); and other relatives and friends. A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in Mount Zion AME Church, 2268 Princess Anne Road, Virginia Beach, VA 23456, where the Rev. Lonnie C. McClain is pastor. Presiding Elder Larry Hinton will serve as eulogist. The family will receive relatives and friends for remembrance and visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in Beach Funeral Services Inc., 4456 Bonney Road, Virginia Beach.
