Melanie Craddock Obituary


Melanie S. Craddock FRANKLIN - Melanie Suzanne Craddock, 46, died Nov. 2, 2008. Born in Suffolk, she was a Medicare eligibility officer at Nansemond Pointe Convalescent Center and a member of Franklin Baptist Church. Melanie was predeceased by her mother, Melissa Craddock Mitchell. She was an admirer of the Rev. Joyce Meyers and a supporter of the Feed the Children Foundation. Melanie was a smart, loving and caring person who touched everyone's heart that she met. Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Walter Frank Story Jr.; two daughters, Tina Jean Story and Elizabeth Dawn Burgess; three grandchildren, Nathanial Story, Julianna and Jazmyn Burgess; her father, H. Wayne Craddock and wife Mary of Statesville, N.C.; one sister, Robyn C. Parker and husband Steve of Mechanicsville; niece, Elyssa Parker; nephew, Jacob Parker; stepbrother, Scott Mitchell; paternal grandfather, Franklin Roy Craddock of Suffolk; mother-in-law, Pauline S. Dunlow of Franklin; and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins. A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Wright Funeral Home with the Rev. Sharon James officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home following the service and suggests memorials be made to the American Diabetes Association. www.wrightfuneralhome.org.
