Mattie McGrath

Mattie M. McGrath NORFOLK - Mattie M. McGrath, 91, passed away Nov. 3, 2008, in Norfolk. A native of Hopewell, Va., she was the daughter of the late Henry L. and Mattie Jones Maifeld and the widow of George R. McGrath. She was a member of Coleman Place Presbyterian Church, the Order of the Eastern Star, the Little Creek Women's Club and the Jamestown Society. She enjoyed lifelong hobbies of gardening and playing bridge. She is survived by her daughter, Gail M. "Pat" Wright and her husband Buck of Chesapeake; her son, Glenn K. McGrath and his wife Helen of Chesapeake; three grandchildren, Keri Credle and husband Tim of Chesapeake, Amy Miller and husband Larry of St. Augustine, Fla., and Courtney McGrath of Virginia Beach; and one great-grandchild, Sydney Elizabeth Miller of St. Augustine. A funeral will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, with the Rev. Fred Archer officiating. The burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
