Mary Archbell Obituary


Mary B. Archbell VIRGINIA BEACH - Mary Brooks Archbell, 97, died Oct. 25, 2008, at home. She was born Oct. 4, 1911, in Bath, N.C., to Edward J. Brooks and Elizabeth Short Brooks. She was the widow of James Clark Archbell Sr. Left to cherish her memory are devoted sister, Clara B. Tarkelsen and husband Arnold of Norfolk; nephew, Robert J. Hassell and wife Donna of Shrewsbury, N.J.; niece, Patricia S. Hassell-Garris and husband John Garris of Virginia Beach; niece, Tany C. Hassell of Virginia Beach; and six stepgrandchildren. The family would like to thank Maribel Lacson and Mila Tendilla for their loving care, as well as the hospice staff of Heartland Health. A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday in St. Thomas Episcopal Church, Bath, N.C. Interment will follow in Oakdale Cemetery, Washington, N.C. Memorial donations may be made to The Noe Restoration Fund, St. Thomas Episcopal Church, Bath, N.C., or The American Cancer Society. Cremation Society of Virginia is assisting the family.
