Hilda Miller Obituary


Hilda L. Miller FRANKLIN - Hilda Lewis Miller, 92, a longtime former resident of Portsmouth, died Nov. 3, 2008. She was born in Scranton, Pa., a daughter of the late Evan Walter and Fannie Robinson Lewis. Mrs. Miller was predeceased by her husband, Edward John Miller, and two brothers, Cyril and Leland Lewis. She was a member of the Community of Christ Church, Order of the Eastern Star, Western Branch Senior Citizens, and an active member of the Blackwater Artist League. She was a longtime Portsmouth caterer and a member of the Food Services Executive Association. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Diane M. Bracy and husband John; her son, Edward A. Miller, all of Franklin; one brother, Walter E. Lewis of Courtland; three grandchildren, Gregory F. South, Eric A. Miller and Karen M. Dodge; and four great-grandchildren, Forrest D. South, Noah T. South, Edward W. Dodge and Madelene L. Dodge. A memorial service will be conducted Saturday at 11 a.m. in Wright Funeral Home with the Rev. David Alger and the Rev. Paul Dillon officiating. The family will be at the home of Diane and John Bracy, 30441 Nancy's Place, and suggests memorials be made to the American Cancer Society or Children's Hospital of the King's Daughters. www.wrightfuneralhome.org.
