Barry Hess Obituary

Barry W. Hess NORFOLK - Barry W. Hess, 54, passed away peacefully in his sleep Nov. 3, 2008. Born in Portsmouth, N.H., in 1954 to the late Judith Farley and Thomas Hess, Barry is survived by his brother, Robert and wife Sue; nieces, Sunny and Taylor; Aunt Marlene and Uncle Phil; cousin, Pat; friend, Neil; and hundreds of others who came to know and love this special man. Born with Down syndrome, Barry lived with his mother for most of his life. Never apart for more than a day, they were connected spiritually at a level that can not be explained. They could read each others' minds, facial expressions and body language. On Sept. 7, 2008, Barry's mother passed away, breaking his heart and will to fight for life. We would like to thank all the special people that helped the family care for Barry these past five years. Heaven's Very Special Child has gone home and he will be dearly missed. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday in Farrell Funeral Home, 684 State St., Portsmouth, N.H., for Barry and his mother, Judy.
