Jennie Slater Obituary
Jennie B. Slater CHESAPEAKE - Jennie B. "JB" Slater, 54, of the 4100 block of Williamson St., passed away Nov. 3, 2008 in Chesapeake Regional Medical Center. She was predeceased by her father, Robert Lee Bynum. She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Randolph M. Slater; two daughters, Dione Turner and Sandy Wilson; one son, Ronald Bynum; her mother, Elna M. Bynum; three sisters, Blanche L. Turner, Viola Bynum and Hermosa Ricks; three grandchildren, Paris S. Bynum, Ra-Dysha Turner and Devin Gomez; and a host of other relatives and friends. A funeral will be held at noon Monday in St. James AME Church, 501 Dinwiddie St. Interment will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake. Family and friends will assemble at 4125 Williamson St. one hour prior to the service for the procession to the church. Viewing will be from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday in Metropolitan Funeral Service, Berkley Ave. Chapel. Condolences may be offered at www.metropolitanfuneralservice.com.
