Willie Warren Obituary
Willie T. Warren Jr. PORTSMOUTH - Willie Thomas Warren Jr., 88, passed away at his home Nov. 6, 2008. He was born in Aurelian Springs, N.C., and was the son of the late Willie Thomas Sr. and Mae Warren. Mr. Warren retired from the Norfolk Naval Shipyard as a planner and estimator. He served in the U.S. Navy in World War II. He was a member of St. Andrew's United Methodist Church for more than 50 years. He is survived by his wife, Ruth Warren; his sons, Thomas Warren and wife Marni, Timothy Warren and wife Lynn and David Warren and wife Mechelle; five grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. He was predeceased by his Shih Tzu companion Angel. A graveside service will be conducted Monday at 11 a.m. in Olive Branch Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Snellings Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, Sunday from 6 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Andrew's United Methodist Church.
