Bettye Griffin Obituary
Bettye C. Griffin CHESAPEAKE - Bettye Cecil "Memaw" Griffin, 81, passed away Nov. 6, 2008. She was a native of Glen Allen, W.Va., and was the daughter of the late John and Viola Cleva. She retired as an registered nurse at Portsmouth General Hospital after 27 years. She is survived by her daughter, Susan Harrell and Jesse Neville of Chesapeake; three sons, David L. Griffin Sr. and Amy Alley of Chesapeake, John T. Griffin and wife Janet of Portsmouth and Richard Lee Griffin and wife Cindy of Chesapeake; a sister, Lettye McCue of Cummings, Ga.; six grandchildren, Tina Lee, David Griffin Jr., April Griffin, Rachael Griffin, Dyan Griffin and Tiffany Griffin; and seven great-grandchildren. A funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Monday in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, by the Rev. Steve Hassell. Burial will follow in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 6:30 to 8 p.m. www.SturtevantFuneralHome.com.
