Kathleen Wilmot NORFOLK - Kathleen Wilmot, a wonderful Christian woman, loving and selfless mother, wife, daughter, aunt, sister and friend, was called home from a world that is far better having known her. She lived as she spoke, loving, caring and lifting all of us to new heights. Her joyous laughter helped us remember the importance of our relationships. Hers was an indomitable spirit that made us all better people. An avid cook, she gave new meaning to the phrase, "Can't boil water!" A teacher, counselor, artist, water-skier and Irish-American to a fault, she is and forever will be sorely missed. We all loved her, but she loved us more. True to form, Kathleen was also an organ donor. Kathleen was born in Santa Monica, Calif., and grew up in Long Island, N.Y. She worked for the airline industry for many years and was a career coach counselor for TCC where she altered the landscape of the youth of our community. She was an adventurer and a traveler. She moved to Norfolk 25 years ago, married Scott and was blessed with their pride and joy, Monica. She is celebrated by her husband, Scott; loving daughter, Monica; beloved labrador, Captain; her loving parents, George and Mary Hamilton; her sister and brother-in-law, Peggy and Bob Pannenbacker of Virginia Beach and their daughters Kristin, Meghan and Lauren Lamoureux and her son John Parker; her brother and sister-in-law, John "Jay" and Nita Foley and their children Jack, Alex, Samantha and Christopher, all of Tulsa, Okla.; and also by brother-in-law, Garry and his wife Elaine; sister-in-law, Wendy and her husband Andy; her stepbrothers, George, Fred, Neal and Christopher Hamilton. She was predeceased by her father, John J. Foley. Visitation is planned from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today in H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., 1501 Colonial Ave., Norfolk, (757) 622-7353. A memorial Mass will be conducted 1 p.m. Saturday in Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 6400 Newport Ave., Norfolk, by Father Joseph H. Metzger III. In lieu of flowers, Kathleen's family requests donations be made to the Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia, 800 Tidewater Drive, Norfolk, VA 23504. Online condolences may be sent to
