Anna Turner Obituary


Anna D. Turner NORFOLK - Anna Dorothy Turner died Nov. 12, 2008, in her home surrounded by her loving family. A native of Philadelphia, she was born July 25, 1923, and was a daughter of the late Joseph and Dominicka Andreljyk Olszewska. Anna lived most of her life in Norfolk and was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by two sisters, Josephine Powell and Sophie Olszewska and one brother, Anthony Olszewski. She is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Clinton D. Turner Jr.; one daughter, Patricia Beauter and husband Robert; two sons, Clinton J. Turner and wife Cheryl and Kenneth Ray Turner and wife Mary; two sisters, Stephanie Speese of New Jersey and Helen MacClain of Pennsylvania; one brother, John Olszewski of Pennsylvania; five grandchildren, Michael and Kristen Beauter, Jessica and Kimberly Turner and Jason Anderson and wife Lori; one great-grandchild, Clayton Anderson; six special nieces, Mary Annette Anderson, Stephanie Loomis, Janet Crowder, Melissa Wilcox, Molly Anderson and Maggie Whittier; two special nephews, Derek and Adam Loomis; beloved brother-in-law, William J. (Darby) Speese; several grand and great-grandnieces, -nephews and cousins. A funeral Mass will be conducted at 7 p.m. Monday in Christ the King Catholic Church by Father Brian Rafferty. Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Monday prior to the Mass. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to Christ the King School, 3401 Tidewater Drive, Norfolk, VA 23509. H. D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Norfolk Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
