Raymond McClenny Obituary


Raymond McClenny Sr. ZUNI - Raymond Wellington McClenny Sr., 76, entered into eternal rest Monday Nov. 10, 2008, at a local health care center after a long period of illness. He was the son of the late Robert Mac and Ada Pierce McClenny. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Russell, Theodore and Gillispie McClenny and one sister, Cleo M. Barrett. He leaves to cherish his memory a loving and devoted family: his wife of many years, Patricia McClenny of Zuni; one son, Raymond W. McClenny Jr. and his wife Toni of Chester, Va.; one daughter, Felicia McClenny and Kenneth of Richmond; one brother, Andrew and his wife Mildred Jones McClenny of Richmond; one sister, Dr. Edith Griffin of Washington, D.C.; four grandchildren, Raymond III, Ian and Taylor McClenny of Chester, Va., and Erin McClenny of Richmond; two sisters-in-law, Portia McClenny of Wakefield, Va., and Mildred Sykes McClenny of Zuni; and a host of other beloved relatives and friends. A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Little Gilfield Baptist Church, Ivor, with the Pastor E.E. Mitchell Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Mr. McClenny will lie in repose from 3 to 7 p.m. Monday at the Little Gilfield Baptist Church. Services of comfort are entrusted to the staff of McClenny Funeral Service Inc. R.B. at Doris A. McClenny/Morticians.
