Joshua Cahoon Obituary


Joshua W. Cahoon NORFOLK - Joshua W. Cahoon, 90, of the 400 block of Thole St., passed away Nov. 15, 2008, in his home. He was the son of the late Abraham and Katie Cahoon of Swan Quarter, N.C. Josh was born and raised in Swan Quarter and later moved to Norfolk. He was a salesman for J.J. Haines and Company. He then worked at Crestar Bank. Josh was a Mason of George W. Wright, Lodge No. 346. He was a member of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church. Josh is survived by his wife of 20 years, Winifred (Winnie) Baun Mangum Cahoon of Norfolk; his sister, Grace Cahoon Spencer and her husband Warren Gray Spencer of Swan Quarter; two sons, Michael Cahoon and his wife Nancy Bray Cahoon of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Richard Cahoon and his wife Janice Humphries Cahoon of Norfolk; and three grandchildren, Danielle Cahoon Johnson and her husband Chris Johnson of Charlotte, N.C., Travis Cahoon and Curtis Cahoon, both of Norfolk. Also surviving are Winnie's children, Bill Mangum and his wife Melanie of Charlotte, Phillip Mangum and his wife, Melody of Holly Springs, N.C., Cathy Mangum of Virginia Beach and Brad McDonald of Cary, N.C. There are 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. The Cahoon family would like to express their deepest thanks and appreciation to Delores Corprew. A service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Hollomon- Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 7 to 8 p.m. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.hollomon-brown.com.
