Bernice Mosley Obituary


Bernice L. Mosley VIRGINIA BEACH - Bernice Lee Mosley, 87, of Charity Neck Road, went home to be with the Lord Nov. 15, 2008. Born Aug. 24, 1921, in Princess Anne County, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Moses and Loretta Land Lee. She was the widow of Ervin W. Mosley. She was a member of Charity United Methodist Church. Bernice is survived by son, David Mosley of Virginia Beach; daughter, Virginia (John) Dodson of Berea, Ky.; seven grandchildren, Timothy Madison, David Mosley Jr., John Dodson Jr., Jeff Dodson, Regina Cook, Tina Garrenton, and Rita Ashley; 11 great- grandchildren, Christian and Logan Mosley, Jacob, Jeffrey and Cassandra Dodson, Samantha Toy, Roy Ober Jr., Tiffany Durden, T.J. Ashley, and Ashley and Matthew Madison; one great-great-granddaughter, Cheyene Nicole Ashley; brother, Hilton (Thelma) Lee; two sisters, Lorraine Pledger and Mary Davis; and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by an infant son; her son, Woodrow Mosley; daughter, Phyllis Madison; four brothers, Milton, Harry, Earl and Vernon Lee; and two sisters, Bertie Land and Maude Jackson. A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Charity United Methodist Church by the Rev. Bob Sharp. Burial will follow in Charity Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church Tuesday from 1 to 2 p.m. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel, is handling arrangements.
