Johnny Parker Obituary
Johnny E. Parker SUNBURY - Johnny Elmer Parker, 63, of Acorn Hill Road, died Nov. 17, 2008, in Albermarle Hospital, Elizabeth City. Mr. Parker was born in Suffolk, the son of the late William Walter Sr. and Louise Stallings Parker. He had enjoyed his life work as a farmer. Surviving are a brother, W. Walter "J" Parker Jr. and wife Carolyn of Sunbury; a nephew, W. Walter Parker III, also of Sunbury; and a niece, Jennifer Parker Savage and husband Charles of Virginia Beach. Graveside services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. in Damascus Christian Church Cemetery by the Rev. E. Vernon Gilmer Jr. Miller Funeral Home, 304 Main St., Gatesville, is handling arrangements. Friends may join the family at the home his brother, 65 Folly Road, Sunbury. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Duke University Medical Center, P.O. Box 3708, Durham, NC 27710 and should be directed for use at its Diabetic Center.
