Jimmy Harvey Obituary


Jimmy L. Harvey OXFORD - Jimmy L. Harvey, 59, a resident of the 3500 block of Tar River Road, died Saturday in his residence. He was a native of Gates, N.C., the son of Daniel R. Harvey Sr. and the late Susie Riddick Harvey. He was a retired certified welder with the federal government and an Army veteran. He is survived by a wife, Gloria Stroud Harvey; two daughters, Tomeki Skorurski of Mitchelville, Ariz., and Trina Allen of Sunbury, N.C.; one son, Justin Harvey of Oxford; one stepdaughter, Dana Stroud of Washington, D.C.; two stepsons, Damon Hancock and Byron Hancock, both of Oxford; a father, Daniel R. Harvey Sr. of Gatesville; three brothers, Stephen Harvey of Hempstead, N.Y., Charlie Harvey of Albany, N.Y., and Daniel Harvey of Kearneysville, W.Va.; and one grandchild. Viewing will be today from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m. in Wright Funeral Home, Oxford and Friday beginning at 11 a.m. in New Hope Baptist Church, Gates. There will be no viewing after 2 p.m. The Rev. Sandra Hutchinson will conduct the funeral Friday at 2 p.m. in the church. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Arrangements are by Wright Funeral Home in Oxford and Stallings Funeral Home Chapel in Gatesville.
