Anne Hoffler Obituary


Anne G. Hoffler NORFOLK - Anne G. Hoffler, 84, of the 200 block of Granby Park, passed away Nov. 21, 2008, in Bon Secours DePaul Medical Center. A native of Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Jerrie and Minnie Giles and the widow of Robert Edward Hoffler. She was a retired school secretary for Blair Junior High School in Norfolk. She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church, the Association of Educational Office Professionals of Norfolk, the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW and the Norfolk Senior Center. She is survived by her daughter, Jerry Anne Rubin; two brothers, Bobby Giles and wife Joan and Ray Giles and wife Effie; five grandchildren, Lynn Rechtorovic and husband Jim, Heather Blankenship, William Buchholz, Roberta Buchholz and Kristin Chaseley and husband Keith; and five great-grandchildren. A funeral will be conducted Saturday at 2 p.m. in Hollomon- Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, with Pastor Dan Abbott officiating. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service. A graveside service will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. in the Billy Giles Cemetery in Chatham, Va., with Pastor Henry Meadows officiating.
